Steady Brook: Located about 10km (6.2 MI) east of Corner Brook, this is the only town that has the word steady in its name. Its moniker is "The Ski Capital of Newfoundland and Labrador" as it is the home of the Alpine Ski Resort.
The population in 2016 was 444, an 8.8% increase since 2011 when 408 residents were enumerated.
Because of its closeness to a recreation facilities and community amenities the community has become a mecca for retirees and for professionals who work in Corner Brook and Deer Lake, hence the population increase.
Mount Musgrave: Located in western Newfoundland, approximately 7 km (4 mi) east of Corner Brook, near the southern side of the Humber River Valley at Steady Brook.
It is 546 m or 1,791 ft in height and is named in honour of Sir Anthony Musgrave, a colonial governor of Newfoundland, who served from 1864 to 1869. Musgrave Harbour and Musgravetown, already mentioned are also named after the same politician.
