Reidville: Located on the Upper Humber River near Deer Lake, Reidville is a young lumbering and farming town, at least young in comparison to many other towns in Newfoundland and Labrador.
It was Thomas Reid who gave the town its name, naming it after his family who were the first to arrive there in the early 1930s.
According to material included in the ENL, the community was "well suited to agriculture and people began to raise horses, sheep, cattle and poultry. Hay and grain were grown for the animals, and root crops such as potatoes and turnips provided food for the families who grew them and for the men working in nearby lumber camps".
Reidville has grown since the census of 2011. Then there were 474 citizens registered; in 2016 the number had increased (by 7.4%) to 509.
