Meadows: Located on the north shore of Humber Arm, about 20 km (12.4 mi) by road from Comer Brook., Meadows should not be confused with the community of LAnse-Aux-Meadows that is at the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula. The town originally settled on "Meadows Point", as far back as the 1880s, is thought to be named, according to the citations included in the ENL, to recognize the meadows that were known to "predate settlement". Meadows has a history of being a fishing, logging and farming community. In 2016 there were 626 residents, a decrease of 3.5% from the total of 649 recorded five years earlier.
