McIver's: Located on the north shore of the Bay of Islands on the road to Cox's Cove, the community actually embraces five coves - Blanchard's Cove, Lower Cove, McIver's Cove, Neck Cove, and Rattler Cove.
It is believed that McIver's takes its name from an early settler, however, no information could be found about anybody by that name. However, Mclver (or Maclver) is a common Scottish surname and there were many Scottish settlers in this area in the late 1700s so the possibility of it being named after a settler with that sumame is a strong possibility.
In 2016 the population was enumerated as 538, a slight decrease of 1.5% from the 546 recorded 5-years previously.
