DULEY LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK RESERVE:
Located in western Labrador, 10 km (6.2 mi) from Labrador City.
The park reserve is 6.90 km2 (2.7 mi2). The main purpose of Duley Lake Provincial Park Reserve is to protect the open lichen woodland which is representative of Ecoregion V (Labrador).
It is assumed that the park is named after Cyril Chancey Duley, however, that speculation has not been confirmed from our research. According to ENL sources, Duley (1890-1952) was a businessman born in St. John's He returned from WWI to the family's optical business after serving overseas with the Newfoundland Regiment.
He received an M.B.E. (Military Division) for his activity and was subsequently given a medical discharge in 1918. Duley was one of the founding members of the Tourist and Publicity Association serving as Second Vice-President c.1927.
