Woodstock vs Pacquet: Located further northward on Route 417 one comes to two towns, the first being Woodstock.
At one point it was known as Southwest Pacquet, however according to the CNL website, the name was changed in 1911 when the first post office was opened by George Packwood, undoubtedly, to minimize any confusion that could occur between the two towns.
Logging, fishing and mining were the major employers of the two towns over time. The town of Pacquet, which is shown on the 1775 charts of Cook and Lane as Pacquet Harbour.
