Miles Cove: Located on the east side of Sunday Cove Island in western Notre Dame Bay, according to the material contained within the ENL, the community first appears in the 1911 Census with a population of 45.
In 1973 a causeway was built linking the town to the mainland, which brought more people to the community. Lumbering and fishing have been the major sources of income.
Miles is a common sumame in Atlantic Canada one can presume the community was named after an early settler, but no proof of that was substantiated. In 2016 the population count of 104 residents showed a serious decline of 24.1% from the 137 recorded in 2011.
