Bishop's Falls: Located in the heart of the Exploits River valley area, the town was named after Bishop John Inglis, who visited the Falls in 1827.
According to the Explore NL website, Bishop's Falls is home to Newfoundland's oldest and longest railway trestle.
The trestle and remnant railway bed are now part of the Newfoundland T'Railway (Trans Canada Trail) which crosses the province (see section on Provincial Parks).
The population in 2016 was 3,156, a 5.5% decrease from the 3,341 reported
in 2011.
