St. Patrick's: Located on Little Bay Arm in western Notre Dame Bay, approximately 10 km (6.2 mi) northeast of Springdale, according to material included in the ENL the community was settled during the late 1800s, by families from Conception Bay attracted to the area by prospects of employment at Little Bay, where there was a major copper mine from 1878 to 1899.
The town's name was most likely chosen to honor the patron Saint of Ireland, especially given many of the early settlers were of Irish background.
