St. Judes; Located just south of Deer Lake, St. Judes was previously called Waterchute as it was the site where steam locomotives are "watered".
It is said that a local priest suggested it be renamed St. Judes, one would assume after Judas Thaddaeus also known as "Jude, the Brother of Jesus", not Judas Iscariot, the apostle who betrayed Jesus prior to his death.
