Open Hall: Located south of Tickle Cove, it is believed that French fishermen stopped in the area for fresh water and called the area as la bonne eau or "good water".

Over time, as the French were replaced by the English, and the name was anglicized to "Open Hole". At some point "Open Hole" became "Open Hall", far more pleasing name to any "prudish" ear!
