Noggin Cove: Located on the south side of Sir Charles Hamilton Sound, just west of Carmanville, this cove is named after a "noggin"..

According to the DNLE a "noggin" is (1) a small wooden cask; especially such a cask sawn in half; or tub, (2) a small tub for- merly used on a sealer for taking food from the galley, (3) a wooden tub usually hold-ing 10 lb of butter or (4) a sawed-off 10-lb tub, used for mixing horses' feed in.
