Oak Bark Cove: Located on the Great Northern Peninsula, north of Barr'd Harbour, Oak Bay Cove is most likely a reference to the materials that the Beothuk's canoes were made out of (oak bark, birch bark, etc.).
The Beothuks were native Indians, who were living in Newfoundland before the land was "discovered" by non-natives. The Beothuk (meaning "the people" or "true people" in their language) were also called "the Red Indians" because of the red ochre paint that they used to adorn their bodies.
