Morley's Siding: Located approximately 20 km (12.4) miles north of Clarenville, according to the ENL sources, Morley's Siding is a relatively new, community, compared to others.
In 1911 the Bonavista branch railway was constructed, and a "siding was built to take advantage of the potential of Morley's Brook for sawmilling".
In the Census of 1961, Morley Siding was enumerated separately from Lethbridge, at which point the population was listed as being 25.
Logging and more recently agriculture have been the mainstay of the community. Obviously named for its close proximity to the brook, how it got the brook got its name is so far unknown to the research team.
Early settler? Named by an early surveyor? Morley is a fairly common name in Atlantic Canada, both as a first name and also as a family name.
