Jackson's Cove: Located on a promontory separating Green Bay from Western Arm, as Jackson is a familiar name as shown in the previous listing, one would not be faulted for thinking that Jackson's Cove would also be named after an earlier settler.
However, it is believed that the community was settled around 1850, and that none of earlier settlers were Jacksons. Local lore suggests that originally it was known as "Jacket's Cove" and that the name was given to "honour" the first English visitor to the area who just happened to wear three jackets.
The combined population of Jackson's Cove-Langdon's Cove-Silverdale in 2016 was 129 down 14.0% from 150 in 2011.
