Ivanhoe: Located on the southwest side of the island of Ireland's Eye near Trinity, Ivanhoe was originally called Old Tilt.
It was renamed in 1917 and it is very unlikely that it was named after the historical novel by Sir Walter Scott, first published in late 1819.
Most likely it was named after the Ivany family who were early settlers in the area; it was resettled in the 1960s, and is now abandoned.
