286 CONCEPTION BAY HWY |
Newfoundland Tourism Region : Avalon
Butlerville: Located about 5 km southwest of Bay Roberts, Butlerville was first settled by a family by the name of Butler in the mid 19th century, who originally came from County Limerick, Ireland.
So, what does this have to do with Gully? For some unknown reason, Butlerville, nearby Shearstown, and the more major town of Bay Roberts, according to ENL sources, were referred to as "The Gully", "The Pond" and "The Harbour" respectively.
